Our Beliefs

At Next Church, we believe the whole Bible to be completely and equally inspired and that it is the written Word of God. We accept and teach the following as our core beliefs:

1. The Bible

We believe in the verbal inspiration of the Bible and that it is the final authority for faith, doctrine, and Christian living.

2. The One True God

We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons:

The Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.

3. Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived by the Holy Ghost and born of the Virgin Mary.

We believe Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead, ascended into heaven, and is now seated at the right hand of the Father as our Intercessor and Savior.

4. Sin and Repentance

We believe that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, and that repentance is commanded by God for all people and is necessary for the forgiveness of sins.

5. Salvation

We believe that justification, regeneration, and the new birth are received by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ, and not by human works.

6. Sanctification & Holy Living

We believe in sanctification subsequent to the new birth, through faith in the blood of Christ, through the Word of God, and by the Holy Ghost.

We believe that holiness is God’s standard of living for His people.

7. The Baptism of the Holy Ghost

We believe in the baptism with the Holy Ghost subsequent to a clean heart, empowering believers to live and serve effectively.

8. Speaking in Tongues

We believe in speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance, and that this is the initial evidence of the baptism in the Holy Ghost.

9. Water Baptism

We believe in water baptism by immersion, and that all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.

10. Divine Healing

We believe that divine healing is provided for all through the atonement of Jesus Christ.

11. Communion & Feet Washing

We believe in the Lord’s Supper and the washing of the saints’ feet as ordinances of the Church.

12. The Return of Christ

We believe in the premillennial second coming of Jesus Christ:

First, to resurrect the righteous dead and catch away the living saints.

Second, to return and reign on the earth for one thousand years.

13. Resurrection & Eternity

We believe in the bodily resurrection,

eternal life for the righteous,

and eternal punishment for the wicked.
